Community Savings Ltd is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead our charity through its next stage of development and impact. Established to promote financial inclusion in Jersey, Community Savings provides free, confidential support, practical assistance and accessible financial services to islanders who may be experiencing financial difficulty, exclusion from mainstream banking, or a sudden change in circumstances. We are looking for a values-led, strategic and resilient leader who can strengthen our services, build trusted partnerships and ensure we remain focused on improving outcomes for vulnerable islanders.
Reporting to the Chair of the Board, the CEO will provide overall leadership, strategic direction and operational oversight for the organisation. Working closely with the Board, employees, volunteers, regulators, funders and community partners, you will be responsible for delivering the charity’s strategy, maintaining strong governance, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting long-term financial sustainability. You will act as the principal ambassador for Community Savings, representing the organisation with credibility, compassion and professionalism across Jersey’s charitable, regulatory, financial and community networks.
This is a broad and influential leadership role. You will lead the development and implementation of annual business plans, monitor organisational performance, oversee budgets and resources, and ensure that services are safe, eƯective and responsive to changing community needs. You will also support fundraising, income diversification and stakeholder engagement, helping to secure the resources needed to expand our reach and deepen our impact. As part of the role, the CEO will also act as Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer, supporting the effective management of antimoney laundering and financial crime obligations when required.
The successful candidate will bring senior leadership or executive management experience, ideally gained in a regulated, financial services, charity or community-focused environment. You will have a strong understanding of governance, risk, compliance and financial management, alongside the ability to work effectively with Boards, regulators, funders and senior stakeholders. We are particularly interested in candidates who can lead change, develop people, build partnerships and balance sound commercial judgement with a deep commitment to social purpose.
You will be an inspiring and inclusive leader with excellent communication skills, sound judgement and the personal credibility to represent Community Savings externally. Just as importantly, you will share our belief that everyone deserves dignity, respect and access to practical support when facing financial difficulty. This role offers the opportunity to make a visible and lasting contribution to financial inclusion in Jersey, leading a committed organisation that provides essential help to people when they need it most.
If you are a strategic, compassionate and delivery-focused leader who wants to use your experience to support islanders, strengthen community resilience and help shape the future of a respected local charity, we would be delighted to hear from you.
